Cake Mixing Ceremony at The Renai Cochin

Entering its fifteenth year Renai Cochin is conducting the cake-mixing ceremony with much aplomb.

Shri. Suhas .S. IAS Dist collector & Chairman DTPC was the chief guest of the occasion -The traditional cake mixing ceremony held at Renai was blessed by Rev. Dr. George Nellissery Vicar –St Martin Church –Palarivattom in the presence of Shri. Krishnadas Polakulath – CEO and Managing Director, Vice President – Shri. Achuthan Menon, Jacob Gosh – General Manager, Executive Chef- Mr. Denny Davis, Mr. John Samuel (Business Development Manager). All executives of Renai and FCI Kalamassery students and faculty were also present. K. Rajkumar Joint Director –Dpt. of Tourism-–Vijayakumar S. Secretary – DTPC – Smt. Sandhya Haridas –Asst Director India tourism, G. Gopinath Rao – President, AACHK, T Kaladharan sr. artist were the guests of honour. Prominent people from different walks of life enthusiastically watched the event.

This was a great opportunity for FCI students to learn and understand more about the intricacies of cake mixing and procedures. It was their first opportunity for students first hand touched the ingredients of cake in such a vast quantity and it was a surprise for them when the chef said this year we aim at making more than 3000 cakes. Everyone was given an apron and a chef’s cap for the ceremony.

Lots of Imported apricot, fig, almonds, pistas, varieties of Kismis and assorted dry fruits were included among the ingredient for better taste and quality. We will be distributing it to our most prestigious clients, stakeholders and especially among the children and elder citizens, who are living in care homes away from their homes, as part of our motto of spreading happiness, said the business development manager.
As part of corporate social responsibility, a small amount contributed by the staff of Renai Cochin Hotel was also handed over to the CM Distress relief fund.
